Vijay Singh posts two-shot victory

ORLANDO, Fla., March 18 (UPI) -- Vijay Singh equaled the day's low round and made up a three-shot deficit Sunday to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Orlando, Fla., by two strokes.

This was the 12th stop on the PGA Tour this year and Singh became the first multiple winner, having captured the season-opening Mercedes-Benz Championship.

He shot a 3-under 67 over the Bay Hill course for a 72-hole total of 8-under 272. Rocco Mediate, who also shot a 67 Sunday, finished alone in second.

It was Singh's 31st career victory on the PGA Tour -- a record 19 of which have come after his 40th birthday.

Third-round leader Vaughn Taylor was third at 275 after firing a 73. Ben Curtis was alone in fourth at 276.

Tiger Woods suffered through a miserable back nine as he made two double bogeys and a triple bogey for a 76. He was three shots behind after 10 holes and finished 11 shots back.
