Jimmie Johnson wins second straight race

HAMPTON, Ga., March 18 (UPI) -- Jimmie Johnson passed Tony Stewart with two laps remaining Sunday and captured his second straight Nextel Cup race, the Kobalt Tools 500 at Hampton, Ga.

Johnson finished 1.311 seconds ahead of Stewart, winning the race from the pole. It was the 25th victory of Johnson's Nextel Cup career.

Stewart brushed the wall as Johnson went by him and the loss of momentum caused Stewart to steadily fall back.

Matt Kenseth, Jeff Burton and NASCAR rookie Juan Pablo Montoya rounded out the top five.

Mark Martin finished 10th and retained his overall lead in the season-long points race, but he has said he will skip next week's race at Bristol, Tenn., thus ending his streak of 621 straight starts.
