SUNRISE, Fla., March 17 (UPI) -- Olli Jokinen scored two goals and added three assists Saturday night as the Florida Panthers beat the New York Islanders, 8-5.
The high-scoring contest was tied, 3-3, after the first period.
Florida took a 4-3 advantage into the third period, and then scored four times.
Ville Peltonen had two goals and two assists, while net-minder Ed Belfour -- who set a franchise record for Florida, making his 23rd consecutive start of the season -- allowed five goals on 33 shots for the Panthers, who broke a two-game slide.
Starting goaltender Mike Dunham allowed six goals on 33 shots for the Islanders, who have lost three straight and six of their last eight games.
