COL BKB: Kentucky 67, Villanova 58

CHICAGO, March 17 (UPI) -- Randolph Morris had 19 points and 11 rebounds Friday as Kentucky beat Villanova, 67-58, in a first-round NCAA Tournament West Region game.

Villanova held a 34-30 halftime lead, and neither team ever had a double digit advantage.

Jodie Meeks had 12 points, five rebounds and three assists; Ramel Bradley added 11 points, four rebounds and three assists; and Joe Crawford had 10 points and three rebounds for the eighth-seeded SEC Wildcats (22-11), who will face top-seeded Kansas Sunday in the second round.

Freshman Scottie Reynolds led Villanova with 23 points and two assists. Curtis Sumpter had 19 points and eight rebounds and no other player scored in double digits for the ninth-seeded Big East Wildcats (22-11), who fell far short of last year's Elite Eight appearance.
