COL BKB: Georgetown 62, Boston College 55

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., March 17 (UPI) -- Roy Hibbert had 17 points and 12 rebounds Saturday as No. 8 Georgetown beat Boston College, 62-55, in a second-round NCAA Tournament East Region game.

Jonathan Wallace added 15 points, and Jeff Green had 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Hoyas (28-6), who advance to play Vanderbilt in the regional semifinal next week.

Tyrese Rice scored 22 points for the Eagles (21-12). Jared Dudley added 19 points and eight rebounds.

Two Rice free throws pulled the Eagles to within 54-53 with 3:11 left, but a Jessie Sapp steal and lay-up put the Hoyas up by three. Green sank a three-pointer to stretch the Georgetown lead to 59-53 with 1:26 to go.
