NHL: Chicago 4, Los Angeles 3 (SO)

LOS ANGELES, March 16 (UPI) -- Nikita Alexeev scored in the seventh round of the shootout Thursday night as the Chicago Blackhawks beat Los Angeles, 4-3.

Alexeev scored a goal in regulation and Denis Arkhipov had a goal and an assist for the Blackhawks, who won for the fourth time in their last five games. Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 24 shots in regulation and posted another five saves in the shootout.

Jamie Lundmark, Scott Thornton and Brian Willsie scored for the Kings, who have lost six of their last seven. Sean Burke allowed three goals on 24 shots on goal.

Both teams scored twice in the first six shootout rounds. After Alexeev scored in the seventh round, Khabibulin stopped Willsie's shot to put the game away.
