NHL: Phoenix 4, Philadelphia 0

GLENDALE, Ariz., March 13 (UPI) -- Phoenix routed Philadelphia, 4-0, Monday as Owen Nolan ripped two big slap shots, one that nearly knocked Martin Biron out of the game.

The other Nolan shot found the back of the net.

Mikael Tellqvist stopped 24 shots to earn for the Coyotes, who snapped a five-game losing streak. Niko Kapanen had a goal and an assist for Phoenix.

Biron allowed four goals on 24 shots for the Flyers, who have lost two of three.

Philadelphia was playing without leading scorer Simon Gagne, who suffered a left groin injury on Saturday's 4-1 win over Boston.

Biron was shaken up early by a Nolan slap shot that nailed him on the side of his neck, but recovered and stayed in for the Flyers.
