CALGARY, Alberta, March 12 (UPI) -- Calgary was blessed with goals from Alex Tanguay and Jarome Iginla in a shootout to defeat St. Louis, 5-4, Monday.
The Flames snapped a two-game losing streak and won for the sixth time in eight games. Calgary picked up two points to climb within a point of Dallas, Minnesota and San Jose for fifth in the Western Conference.
Kristian Huselius had a goal and three assists, and David Moss added a goal and a helper for Calgary. Miikka Kiprusoff made 29 saves, including six stops in the overtime.
Dion Phaneuf and Daymond Langkow also scored for Calgary, which is three points behind Vancouver for first in the Northwest Division.
St. Louis has dropped two in a row and four out of five overall. Lee Stempniak scored twice for the Blues. Christian Backman and Petr Cajanek also scored for St. Louis, while Brad Boyes had three assists.
Jason Bacashihua made 30 saves in a losing effort.
