MINNEAPOLIS, March 11 (UPI) -- Brett Burns scored at 4:41 of overtime Sunday night to give the Minnesota Wild a 3-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche.
Mikko Koivu scored both Minnesota regulation goals in the first and third periods respectively; both Pavol Demitra and Marian Gaborik had two assists; and Niklas Backstrom stopped 21 of 23 shots for the Wild, who won their last three games and four of six overall.
The score was tied, 1-1, after the first period after Koivu and Hejduk both scored on the power play, and the game went to overtime after both teams scored once in the third period.
Each team had one power play goal.
With one assist, Minnesota's Paul Stastny set an NHL rookie record for consecutive games with a point with 18.
