NHL: Vancouver 5, Tampa Bay 1

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, March 7 (UPI) -- Jeff Cowan had two goals Tuesday night as the Vancouver Canucks improved to 22-9-2 at home beating the Tampa Bay Lightning, 5-1.

Cowan's first score came at 8:44 of the first period and his second was inside the game's last minute, his second consecutive two-goal game.

Kevin Bieksa and Daniel Sedin added one goal each for Vancouver, who have won three straight and eight of their last 10 games. The Canucks are 5


2 in their last seven games against the Lightning.

Vinny Lecavalier was the only player to find the net for Tampa Bay, who lost their second straight. Johan Holmqvist blocked 28 shots but surrendered all five goals.
