NHL: Philadelphia 5, New Jersey 4 (OT)

PHILADELPHIA, March 6 (UPI) -- Simon Gagne scored 1:47 into overtime Tuesday night to give the Philadelphia Flyers a 5-4 victory over the New Jersey Devils.

Gagne, Sami Kapanen, Mike Richards and Scottie Upshall each had a goal and an assist for the Flyers, who won for just the second time in their last eight games.

Martin Biron stopped 37 shots to earn the win in his Philadelphia home debut.

Scott Gomez had three assists for the Devils, who have lost three straight and four of their last six. Patrik Elias had a goal and two assists and Zach Parise, Sergei Brylin and Brad Lukowich all scored in defeat.

Martin Brodeur made 39 saves in the loss and was denied his sixth 40-win season.
