Dolphins release McMichael and Harrington

DAVIE, Fla., March 5 (UPI) -- The Miami Dolphins released tight end Randy McMichael and quarterback Joey Harrington on Monday.

The Dolphins also signed free agent tight end David Martin, 27, to a three-year contract.

"David is a talented tight end who will be a major contributor to our offense," said Miami Coach Cam Cameron. "He is very athletic with good speed and is a quality receiver, having played wideout in college."

Martin caught 87 passes for 766 yards and nine touchdowns in 70 regular season games with the Green Bay Packers.

Harrington passed for 2,236 yards with 12 touchdowns and 15 interceptions in 11 games last year in his first season with the Dolphins.

McMichael caught 62 passes last season for 640 yards and three touchdowns in his fifth season with Miami.
