NHL: Boston 3, Montreal 1

BOSTON, March 3 (UPI) -- Tim Thomas blocked 31 shots Saturday to lead the Boston Bruins to a 3-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens.

Petr Tenkrat, Brandon Bochenski and Glen Murray scored for the Bruins, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Phil Kessel had two assists during his fourth multi-point game of the season.

Sheldon Souray scored the lone goal for the Canadiens, who have lost four of their last five games. Jaroslav Halak made 33 saves but lost for his third straight start.

Boston was clinging to a one-goal lead before Murray scored with 4:09 left to play. The Bruins protected the lead, allowing Montreal only one shot on goal in the closing four minutes.
