INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Dominic Rhodes, running back for the Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts, appeared in court Monday to face drunken driving charges.
Rhodes, 28, was charging with driving while intoxicated on Feb. 20 after his vehicle was pulled over on Interstate 65 for driving 81 mph and a 55-mph zone.
The football star created a stir as he waited to go through a metal detector at the City-County Building, the Indianapolis Star reported.
Visitors asked for autographs and a woman yelled, "We love you Dominic. Not guilty."
If convicted he could face up to a year in jail, but first-time offenders usually get probation, the Star said.
