NHL: Ottawa 6, Buffalo 5

OTTAWA, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Jason Spezza scored the game-winning goal with 4:07 to play Saturday night as the Ottawa Senators produced a relatively tame 6-5 victory over Buffalo.

There were two fights during the second period, but the contest bore no resemblance to the brawl-marred meeting between the two teams Thursday night.

There were 110 penalty minutes handed out in that game and Buffalo Coach Lindy Ruff was fined $10,000 for sending his enforcers onto the ice to instigate a fight.

The problems Thursday night came after Ottawa's Chris Neil opened a gash on the forehead of Chris Drury -- a cut that required 20 stitches to close.

Neil was involved in one of Saturday night's two fights.

Spezza's winning goal, on the power play, was his second score of the night.

Buffalo managed a victory despite letting a three-goal lead get away.
