Emilie Loit among Monday winners in Bogota

BOGOTA, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Frenchwoman Emilie Loit was among Monday's first-round winners at the Copa Colsanitas Santander tennis tournament.

The fourth-seeded Loit defeated Spaniard Arantxa Parra Santonja 6-2, 6-1 while fifth-seeded Belarusian Anastasiya Yakimova lost to Italian Nathalie Vierin 6-2, 6-4.

Also, Argentine Paola Suarez, who won the title here in 1998 and 2001, beat Hungarian Zsofia Gubacsi 6-0, 6-3.
