NHL: Pittsburgh 5, Chicago 4 (SO)

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Evgeni Malkin scored the game-tying and game-winning goals Wednesday night to help the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Chicago Blackhawks, 5-4.

Malkin's goal at 14:21 of the third period tied the score, 4-4, to create overtime, and his goal in the shootout gave the red-hot Penguins a mark of 12


2 in their last 14 games.

Ronald Petrovicky, Maxime Talbot and Michel Ouellet all scored goals in regulation, while goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury made 24 saves on 28 shots and made two key saves in the shootout for Pittsburgh.

Tuomo Ruutu had a goal and an assist; Patrick Sharp, Martin St. Pierre and Tuomo Ruutu all scored once, and Nikolai Khabibulin made 29 saves on 33 shots for the Blackhawks, who have dropped two of three.

St. Pierre scored the game's only power-play goal.
