MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Mark Blount had 24 points and eight rebounds Wednesday night to help the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Denver Nuggets, 99-94.
Blount scored eight points late in the contest as Minnesota fended off the pesky Nuggets, who led, 51-50, at the half, and 76-73, entering the fourth.
Kevin Garnett had 19 points and 17 rebounds; Rashad McCants had 12 points, three rebounds, and two assists; and Mike James added nine points and four assists for the Timberwolves, who have won three of their last four games following a four-game skid.
Carmelo Anthony led Denver with 28 points, five rebounds; and five assists.
Nene had 18 points, four steals, and two blocked shots; Marcus Camby had 12 points, three rebounds, and two blocks; Linas Kleiza had 11 points and five rebounds; while Steve Blake had a career-high 18 assists for the Nuggets, who again played without star guard Allen Iverson (ankle).
