NHL: San Jose 6, St. Louis 5

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Bill Guerin's hat trick was not enough for St. Louis as it fell to visiting San Jose 6-5 Tuesday night.

Joe Thornton and Jonathan Cheechoo both scored a goal and notched three assists Tuesday night as the San Jose Sharks beat the St. Louis Blues, 6-5.

Mike Grier and Patrick Marleau each added a goal and an assist for the Sharks while Vesa Toskala made 18 saves in goal.

Guerin three goals were his seventh career hat trick. He also had an assist. Keith Tkachuk and Christian Backman each had a goal and an assist for the Blues, who have dropped three of their last four games.

Manny Legace started in net for St. Louis, but was pulled after giving up four goals on 18 shots. Curtis Sanford finished the game, but he gave up a pair of goals on eight shots he faced.
