KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Tennessee remained undefeated at home this season with an 89-85 win over No. 20 Kentucky Tuesday night.
Chris Lofton scored 23 points and had five assists to lead the Volunteers (18-8) to their 14th win at Rocky Top this season and avenged the 76-57 thrashing they received when on the Wildcats' (18-7) home court last month.
Tennessee broke the game open with a 13-4 run late in the first half that gave them a 10-point halftime lead. Kentucky battled back late in the game to tie it 77-77; however the hosts pulled away with help of a couple of timely turnovers by the Wildcats.
Duke Crews had 18 for the Vols while Wayne Chism scored 16.
Kentucky's Joe Crawford led all scorers with 24 while Randolph Morris had a double-double with 14 points and a dozen rebounds.
