NHL: Philadelphia 6, Detroit 1

PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- R.J. Umberger scored twice and Peter Forsberg added a goal and an assist Monday as the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Detroit Red Wings, 6-1.

Detroit has lost five in a row at Philadelphia, a streak that dates back to Jan. 25, 1997.

Mike Richards, Simon Gagne and Todd Fedoruk also scored for Philadelphia, which scored five times in the final period to win for just the fifth time in 27 home games.

The team ended a franchise-record 13-game losing streak on Saturday with a 4-3 overtime win over St. Louis.

Tomas Holmstrom had the lone goal for the Red Wings, who had won six of their last seven games.
