MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- An 18-foot jump shot by Ricky Davis as time expired Sunday gave the Minnesota Timberwolves a 109-107 victory over Boston, the Celtics' 18th straight loss.
Davis led Minnesota with 28 points, five rebounds and five assists. Kevin Garnett had 26 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for a triple-double; Mark Blount had 20 points, five rebounds and two steals; and Randy Foye added 10 points and eight assists for the Timberwolves, who escaped after Boston tied the game at 107 with 1:06 remaining.
Paul Pierce -- playing for the second time after a foot injury -- led the Celtics with 29 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals. Ryan Gomes had 17 points, five rebounds and three steals; and Delonte West had 16 points, eight assists and seven rebounds for the Celtics, who trailed, 58-51, at the break.
Boston has not won since a 128-119 victory at Memphis Jan. 5.
