Mickelson tied Mark O'Meara's 1997 tournament scoring record, matched the record for winning margin and won at Pebble Beach for the third time in his career.

"It gives me some momentum and excitement and I can't wait for next week, for the upcoming majors," he said afterwards. "I'm really excited about the year."

His stunning victory came despite an early double-bogey in the final round.

He won $990,000 for his 30th PGA Tour victory.

John Mallinger (71) was third at 14-under 274, and Davis Love III (69) and Greg Owen (67) tied for fourth at 12-under 276.
