U.S. wins Davis doubles match with Czechs

OSTRAVA, Czech Republic, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- The United States notched another Davis Cup win Saturday as Bob and Mike Bryan knocked off the Czech team in straight sets.

The brothers' victory over Luka Dlouhy and Paul Vizner leaves the U.S. team within one singles victory of advancing to the second round with ace Andy Roddick on deck for Sunday.

Roddick will face Tomas Berdych in a reverse singles match that could clinch it for the Americans. Otherwise, it will be up to James Blake, who faces Ivo Minar on Sunday.

The winner of the Czech-U.S. series will take on the winner of the Switzerland-Spain matches in April. Spain holds a 2-1 edge over the Swiss in their series.

Saturday's win by the Bryans was no surprise as they improved to an impressive 10-1 in Davis Cup play with a 6-4,6-4,6-4 sweep.
