COL BKB: Indiana 65, Illinois 61

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Roderick Wilmont had 17 points and six rebounds Saturday afternoon to help No. 24 Indiana slip by Illinois, 65-61.

The Hoosiers trailed, 33-31, at the half, but escaped by ending the contest with a 7-0 run. Earl Calloway and D.J. White both sank two free throws during the spurt.

Armon Bassett -- who scored the go-ahead basket with 45 seconds left -- had 15 points and five rebounds, and White had 13 points and seven rebounds for the Hoosiers (17-6, 7-3 Big Ten), who avoided a three-game losing streak with the victory.

Warren Carter led Illinois with 14 points and five rebounds. Rich McBride had 13 points, three assists and two rebounds; Marcus Arnold scored 12 points; and Chester Frazier had 10 rebounds and five assists for the Fighting Illini (18-9, 6-6), who had a three-game winning streak snapped.
