NBA: Dallas 95, Houston 74

DALLAS, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Josh Howard led all scorers with 22 points Friday night, as the Dallas Mavericks beat Houston, 95-74.

The Mavericks won for the 14th time in their last 15 games and set a franchise record with their 17th straight home victory.

Jason Terry scored 18 points and Dirk Nowitzki had 15 for Dallas, which has not lost at home since Dec. 7.

Tracy McGrady scored 20 points, Rafer Alston had 14 and Juwan Howard finished with 11 points and six rebounds for Houston, which lost for just the second time in its last eight games.

Dallas went up early, 13-7, but the Rockets rallied to take a 24-20 lead after one quarter. Dallas regained control with an 11-2 run in the second, and went up by 10, 47-37, on a Greg Buckner three-pointer with less than 1:30 in the half -- but Houston fought back to cut the lead to 43-39 at the intermission.

The Mavericks took control for good in the third, when they out-scored the Rockets, 24-19.
