NHL: Washington 4, Los Angeles 3 (OT)

WASHINGTON, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Dainius Zubrus scored at 2:28 of overtime Thursday night to give the Washington Capitals a 4-3 win over the Los Angeles Kings.

The Kings' Lubomir Visnovsky scored at 18:45 of the third period to force the extra session.

Boyd Gordon, Ben Clymer and Chris Clark scored goals, Zubrus had two assists, and Olaf Kolzig made 26 saves on 29 shots for the Capitals, who have won two of their last three games.

Their leading scorer, Alex Ovechkin, registered an assist in the second period to snap a three-game scoring drought.

Anze Kopitar and Alexander Frolov scored, and Mathieu Garon made 22 saves on 26 shots for the Kings, who have dropped two straight and 12 of their last 14 games.

Kopitar scored the game's lone power-play goal.
