COL BKB: Wisconsin 71, Penn State 58

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Alando Tucker scored a game-high 24 points Wednesday night to lead fourth-ranked Wisconsin past Penn State, 71-58.

The contest was more difficult than the heavily-favored Badgers in the first half, as they led by just 34-29 at the half. They gradually increased the led in the second half, and were up, 63-49, with 3:17 left to play.

Kammron Taylor had 13 points and two rebounds, Michael Flowers had 12 points and seven rebounds, and Tucker had eight rebounds and two assists for the Badgers (23-2, 9-1 Big Ten), who have won four of their last five games and have the nation's best record.

Geary Claxton led Penn State with 13 points and 10 rebounds. David Jackson added 10 points, three rebounds and three assists; and Danny Morrissey scored eight points for the Nittany Lions, who have lost eight games in a row.
