NHL: Detroit 5, St. Louis 3

DETROIT, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Two goals and one assist by Thomas Holmstrom helped the Detroit Red Wings skate past the St. Louis Blues, 5-3, Friday night.

The score was tied, 2-2, entering the third period when the Red Wings scored three times to extend their home-winning streak to 10 games.

Kris Draper's short-handed goal proved to be the game-winner.

Henrik Zetterberg had a four-point night with a goal and three assists. Daniel Cleary also scored once, Nicklas Lidstrom had three assists, and Dominik Hasek made 24 saves on 27 shots for the Red Wings, who have a three-game winning steak.

They improved their home-ice record to 19-3-3.

Lee Stempniak, Ryan Johnson and Keith Tkachuk scored, and goaltender Manny Legace gave up four goals on 28 shots for the Blues, who have a three-game losing streak.

Holmstrom scored the game's lone power-play goal.
