Nash, Bosh NBA players of the month

NEW YORK, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Phoenix's Steve Nash and Toronto's Chris Bosh were selected the NBA players of the month for January.

Nash helped the Suns to a NBA record 15-1 mark in January. He averaged a league-high 13 assists and 18 points over the 16 games. He set a career best with 21 assists in a game against Cleveland and finished with 208 assists for the month, the highest assist monthly total since John Stockton had 208 in March 1995.

Bosh averaged 25.4 points and 9.1 rebounds a game as the Raptors went 10-5 in January. He led his team in scoring 13 times and had three games with at least 14 rebounds. His six blocks in a game with Milwaukee set a career high.

Bosh also learned in January that he'd been selected to start in the NBA All-Star game.
