BOSTON, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Josh Smith led Atlanta with 21 points and 11 rebounds Wednesday night and the Hawks rallied from an 18-point third quarter deficit to beat Boston, 82-76.
Joe Johnson had 21 points, seven rebounds and four assists for Atlanta. Josh Childress had 14 points, six rebounds and three assists. Zaza Pachulia added 10 points and nine rebounds as the Hawks broke a three-game losing streak.
Delonte West had 18 points and six assists and Kendrick Perkins had 15 points and 12 rebounds for Boston. Gerald Green had 13 points and eight rebounds, while Al Jefferson added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Celtics -- who grabbed a 28-10 lead after the first quarter, but suffered their eighth straight home-court loss and have dropped 16 of their last 18 games overall.
The Celtics again played without all-star guard Paul Pierce (left foot injury), and lost Jefferson in the fourth quarter to a mild right-ankle sprain.
