DALLAS, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Dallas Stars goaltender Mike Smith has been activated from the injured list, the NHL team said Tuesday.
Smith was diagnosed with a concussion after a Jan. 4 game against Edmonton and missed six games.

In 11 games before the injury the rookie had posted a 5-3-0 record with a 2.36 goals-against-average. He also had two shutouts, including one in his NHL debut.
The Stars reassigned goaltender Dan Ellis to their American Hockey League affiliate in Iowa to make room for Smith on the roster.
