Paraguay clear winner at golf World Cup

SUN CITY, South Africa, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Julieta Granada and Celeste Troche shot seven-under-par Sunday, firing Paraguay to the championship of the Women's World Cup of Golf in South Africa.

Paraguay led all three rounds of the event, with Sunday's 65 in the better ball format giving Granada and Troche a seven-stroke victory. The duo posted eight birdies and a bogey in the final round to finish the tournament at nine-under-par 279. They were each given $120,000 for the victory.

The U.S. team of Pat Hurst and Juli Inkster improved their position each day and ended up second overall at two-under 286 after Sunday's five-under 67. South Korea was a stroke back for third followed by Italy and Scotland, which tied at one-over 289.
