NHL: San Jose 5, Los Angeles 2

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Patrick Marleau, Mark Bell, Milan Michalek and Ryane Clowe scored for San Jose Thursday night as the Sharks beat Los Angeles, 5-2.

Marleau's goal -- toward the end of the second period -- was the 207th of his career and pushed him ahead of Owen Nolan as the top goal scorer in Sharks history. Vesa Toskala made 22 saves as San Jose won for the fourth time in its last five games.

Mike Cammalleri and rookie Anze Kopitar scored for Los Angeles. Mathieu Garon allowed four goals on 30 shots for the Kings, who have split their last eight games.

Los Angeles opened the scoring when Cammalleri notched his 16th goal of the season at 5:02 of the second period.

The Sharks then scored four unanswered goals, beginning with Bell's score at 7:48 of the second, as he faked the Kings Brent Sopel into leaning the wrong way and put a wrist shot into the goal.
