NBA: New York 106, Philadelphia 99

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- The return of Quentin Richardson Wednesday night helped the New York Knicks win their season-best third straight game -- 106-99 over Philadelphia.

Stephon Marbury led the Knicks with 24 points and Richardson came off the bench to score 19. Richardson had missed 11 games with a back ailment.

Philadelphia had beaten the Knicks four straight times, but the 76ers lost their fourth straight overall. Samuel Dalembert led Philadelphia with 18.

During the game, the 76ers announced they had bought out the contract of Chris Webber. There were published reports that Webber would receive less than $5 million of the $42 million he was scheduled to earn through the end of next season.
