NBA: Utah 96, Denver 84

DENVER, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Deron Williams had 28 points and 12 assists Saturday night as the Northwest Division-leading Utah Jazz defeated the Denver Nuggets, 96-84.

Carlos Boozer added 24 points and 11 rebounds for the Jazz, who have won three of their last four games. Mehmet Okur and Derek Fisher both added 10 points.

Allen Iverson had 22 points and eight assists for the Nuggets, who lost their fifth straight. Earl Boykins also scored 22 points, while Linas Kleiza had 17 points and Reggie Evans pulled down 11 rebounds for Denver.

Utah opened the game with a 12-0 run and led 48-32 at halftime. Denver cut the lead to 65-62 with a 30-point third quarter, but Utah out-scored the Nuggets, 31-22, in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.
