COL BKB: Georgetown 66, Notre Dame 48

WASHINGTON, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Roy Hibbert scored 18 points and Jeff Green 15 Saturday to lead the Georgetown Hoyas to a 66-48 victory over the 22nd-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Georgetown (11-3, 1-0 Big East), playing its Big East opener, won its seventh straight game and halted a 12-game winning streak for Notre Dame (13-2, 1-1).

Hibbert was 8-for-9 from the field to lead a Hoyas team that shot 56.8 percent. Jonathan Wallace added 13 points for the Hoyas.

Russell Carter was the only Notre Dame player in double figures with 12 points.
