ST. LOUIS, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 38 shots and the Chicago Blackhawks scored four goals in the third period Tuesday to beat the St. Louis Blues, 4-1.
Martin Havlat, Peter Bondra, Jeff Hamilton and Martin Lapointe all scored for the Blackhawks. Tuomo Ruutu and Denis Arkhipov each added two assists.

Keith Tkachuk scored the lone goal for the Blues, who lost for the second time in their last seven games. Manny Legace stopped 22 shots.
