NBA: Seattle 101, Boston 95

SEATTLE, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Chris Wilcox had 24 points and eight rebounds Sunday night as the Seattle SuperSonics beat Boston, 101-95.

Damien Wilkins scored 20 points and Luke Ridnour had 17 points and 11 assists for Seattle. Ray Allen scored 15 for the Sonics, who broke a two-game losing streak.

Tony Allen had 23 points and Al Jefferson finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Celtics, who lost their sixth straight game.

Seattle was up, 57-51, midway through the third quarter, and then tore off 12 unanswered points -- the last five of them by Wilcox.

The Sonics began the fourth quarter with a 76-59 lead, and Boston closed the gap but never by enough to seriously threaten.
