SALT LAKE CITY, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Mehmet Okur led the way with 20 points and seven rebounds and the Utah Jazz led by as much as 24 Saturday night in a 96-86 victory over Portland.
Carlos Boozer had 19 points and 10 rebounds for Utah. Andrei Kirilenko totaled 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals; and Deron Williams added eight points and 12 assists for the Jazz, who have won three of their last four games.
Utah had a 71-47 lead with 3:26 left in the third quarter and withstood a strong Portland rally.
Zach Randolph led Portland with 34 points and 13 rebounds. Brandon Roy was the only other player in double figures for the Trail Blazers with 17 points.
After a 26-8 run, Portland came within 79-73 with 7:23 left to play.
Utah led, 49-35, at the half.
