COL BKB: Michigan St. 74, Loyola (Md.) 61

EAST LANSING, Mich., Dec. 30 (UPI) -- Michigan State expanded a two-point halftime lead Saturday afternoon into a 74-61 victory against Loyola Maryland.

Goran Suton scored a career-high 27 points to lead the Spartans (13-2) to their seventh straight victory.

Marquise Gray had 19 points and 11 rebounds; Drew Neitzel had 10 points and 12 assists; while Suton added eight rebounds for the Spartans, whose last loss was 65-58 against Boston College on Nov. 29.

Gray had 16 points and eight rebounds in the first half.

With its latest win, MSU improved its home record to 11-0 to date.

Gerald Brown scored 25 points to lead the Greyhounds (5-6), who suffered the third straight loss and fourth in their last five games.

Marquis Sullivan had 11 points and six rebounds; while Omari Israel had eight points and eight rebounds.

In a low turnover contest, Loyola committed only nine; and Michigan State was guilty of 12.
