NHL: Los Angeles 7, Edmonton 4

EDMONTON, Alberta, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Kings scored a season-high in goals Thursday night in a 7-4 rout of Edmonton.

After a 2-2 tie at the end of the first period, the Kings increased a lead in both of the final two periods to record a split of their last four games.

Alexander Frolov had a goal and two assists; Sean Avery, Rob Blake, Dustin Brown, Brian Willsie, Lubomir Visnovsky and Alyn McCauley all scored once, Derek Armstrong had three assists; and Matheiu Garon turned aside 35 shots.

Rob Blake, who scored once, played in his 700th game for the Kings.

Jarrett Stoll had a goal and two assists; Fernando Pisani, Daniel Tjarnqvist, and Ryan Smyth all scored once; and Dwayne Roloson allowed six goals on 37 shots for the Oilers, who have lost four of their last five games.

On the power play; Los Angeles was 3-for-7; and Edmonton was 3-for-8.
