CLEVELAND, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Cleveland Browns quarterback Charlie Frye likely is done for the 2006 season because of a broken bone in his right wrist.
On the team's Web site, Coach Romeo Crennel admitted that he was not aware of the results of Frye's medical tests earlier this week, but was hopeful.
"Charlie got a second opinion, but I haven't heard anything about a broken bone," Crennel told the Akron Beacon-Journal. "No doctor has told me that a bone is broken. We've said all along that he has a bone bruise, which is true. I haven't heard it from a doctor yet."
Frye was hurt in the Dec. 3 game against Kansas City.
He has missed the past two games with what the team had diagnosed as a deep bruise.
Frye started the first 12 games this season and has thrown for 10 touchdowns and 2,267 yards with a 63.4 percent pass completion average.
Two-year veteran Derek Anderson has started in Frye's absence.
