NHL: St. Louis 5, Los Angeles 2

ST. LOUIS, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Five different players each scored one goal Thursday night as St. Louis topped the Los Angeles Kings, 5-2.

Goals by David Backes in the first period, and Lee Stempniak and Martin Rucinsky in the second period staked St. Louis to a 3-0 lead at the second intermission.

Jay McClement and Barret Jackman both scored in the third period, with Jackman's goal at 19:38 of the third coming into an empty net.

Radek Dvorak had two assists and goaltender Manny Legace made 23 saves on 25 shots for the Blues, who have won two straight following an 11-game losing streak.

Anze Kopitar and Derek Armstrong both scored once, Lubomir Visnovsky assisted on both goals and Dan Cloutier gave up four goals on 21 shots for the Kings, who have a three-game losing streak.

On the power play, Los Angeles went 1-for-1; and St. Louis was 0-for-1.
