CHESTNUT HILL, Mass., Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Boston College has named Green Bay Packers offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski as the Eagles head football coach.
Jagodzinski signed a five-year contract Tuesday becoming the 33rd head coach in school history.
Boston College had been searching for a head coach since Tom O'Brien was named head coach at North Carolina State last week.
The Eagles were 75-45 in 10 seasons under O'Brien as the program changed its image following a gambling scandal under then Coach Dan Henning.
Boston College was 9-3 this season, their second in the ACC, and is headed to the Meineke Car Care Bowl to play Navy on Dec. 30.
The Eagles haven't had a losing season since 1998, finishing 4-7 in O'Brien's second year. The Eagles have also reeled off six consecutive bowl wins, and are making their eighth straight bowl appearance.
Jagodzinski is in his eighth NFL season as a coach.
