NHL: New Jersey 6, N.Y. Rangers 1

NEW YORK, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Patrik Elias and Sergei Brylin both scored twice Sunday night as the New Jersey Devils beat the New York Rangers, 6-1.

Jamie Langenbrunner and Zach Parise each had a goal and two assists, Brian Gionta had two helpers, and Martin Brodeur made 35 saves for the Devils, who broke a three-game losing streak.

Petr Prucha scored, Jaromir Jagr and Michal Rozsival had assists and Kevin Weekes had 22 saves on 28 shots for the Rangers, who dropped their second straight.

Elias opened the scoring with a two-man advantage goal at 17:26 of the first. Langenbrunner scored an unassisted power-play goal at 6:25 of the second.

Prucha got the Rangers on the board about a minute later with his first goal since Nov. 10. Jagr's assist on the goal gave him 864 for his career, and 19th place on the all-time NHL assists list.

Brylin made it 3-1 at 10:05 of the second, and the Devils pretty much put the game out of reach when Parise fed Brylin in front of the crease at 1:49 of the third.
