NFL: N.Y. Jets 26, Minnesota 13

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Chad Pennington passed for a touchdown and 339 yards Sunday afternoon to help the New York Jets top the Minnesota Vikings, 26-13.

He made a nice comeback from throwing no touchdown passes and two interceptions in a 31-13 home loss to Buffalo last Sunday.

Cedric Houston scored once and gained 53 yards on 21 carries, Laveranues Coles scored once and gained 144 yards on 12 catches, and Mike Nugent kicked four field goals for the Jets (8-6), who have won three of their last four games to stay alive in the AFC playoff picture.

Travis Taylor scored a touchdown and picked up 81 yards on six receptions; Mewelde Moore also caught a touchdown pass; rookie Tarvaris Jackson, who replaced an ineffective Brad Johnson, went 14-for-23 for 177 yards, one touchdown and one interception; and Napoleon Harris made three tackles, intercepted a pass and forced a fumble for the Vikings (6-8), who have dropped two of their last three games.
