NFL: Green Bay 17, Detroit 9

GREEN BAY, Wis., Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Brett Favre became the NFL's all-time leader in pass completions Sunday afternoon as the Green Bay Packers beat Detroit, 17-9.

He overcame three interceptions to complete 20-of-37 passes for 174 yards for Green Bay (6-8), which had a 10-3 lead at halftime.

Donald Driver caught seven passes for 70 yards, Vernand Morency ran for two touchdowns, and Ahman Green gained 79 yards on 22 carries for the Packers, who have won two in a row following a three-game losing streak.

Favre has 4,968 pass completions. He surpassed Dan Marino.

Jon Kitna was 16-of-26 passing for 135 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions for Detroit. Jason Hanson kicked three field goals for the Lions (2-12), who have lost six games in a row.

The sloppy contest featured seven turnovers -- four by Green Bay, and three by Detroit. The Packers are 15-0 at home against the Lions with Favre at quarterback.
