NHL: Dallas 4, Los Angeles 3 (SO)

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- Mike Ribeiro's goal in a shootout Saturday gave Dallas a 4-3 win over the Los Angeles Kings.

The contest was sent to overtime when the Stars' Brenden Morrow scored on the power play at 15:02 in the third period.

Philippe Boucher and Stu Barnes scored in the first period to give Dallas a 2-0 lead.

Dustin Brown's power-play goal in the second drew the Kings within 2-1 at the second intermission.

Sean Avery and Rob Blake both scored in the third period to give the Kings a 3-2 lead before Morrow's late heroics.

Marty Turco made 33 saves on 36 shots for the Stars, who have split their last four games.

In only his third game, rookie goaltender Barry Brust was beaten three times on 31 shots for the Kings, who also have split their last four games.

On the power play, Los Angeles went 2-for-6, and Dallas was 1-for-3.
