NEW YORK, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- New York's Mardy Collins horse-collared Denver's J.R. Smith and 10 players were ejected in the ensuing brawl, as the Denver Nuggets beat the Knicks, 123-100.

Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony was among those ejected for fighting.

Collins' hard-foul on Smith came as Smith was driving to the basket with 1:15 left to play. Smith took exception and started shoving Collins, and then Knicks guard Nate Robinson tackled Smith near the crowd.

As the players were being broken up, Anthony belted Collins in the jaw with a wicked right hand. At that, New York's Jared Jeffries tried to get at Anthony.

Anthony finished with 34 points and seven rebounds for the Nuggets, who have split their last four games.

Stephon Marbury had 31 points and eight assists to lead the Knicks, who have dropped three of their last four games.

The last NBA on-court brawl was in November 2004 in a game between Indiana and Detroit.
